About Me.

LoriThinkingIllustrationHi, I’m Lori. Thank you for visiting my blog.

I’m a veteran writer, editor, public speaker and strategic marketing and communications consultant. Clients come to me for help connecting the dots and telling their stories through websites, social media, traditional marketing and public relations.

I also love to teach. I’m committed to mentoring youth and helping train a new generation of communications professionals as a college professor in Public Relations/New Media and as a young entrepreneur mentor for WeTech Allliance.

My 2010 appointment to the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Grant Review Team for Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton remains a high point of my volunteer life. I’ve been an active Rotarian and Friend of Rotary for more than a decade, am a Board Director for Bike Friendly Windsor Essex, and I sit on Community Task Forces for Literacy and Transportation. I’m a long-time member of the Marketing Advisory Committee for Hospice Windsor-Essex and I most recently co-founded The Citizens’ Coalition for a Community Market.

I live in Windsor, Ontario with my 3 almost-grown-up sons and 2 rescued greyhounds Forrest, and Lucy Lou Who. When I’m not off exploring the world or riding my bicycle, I attempt to balance my work, volunteering and community building projects with tending an unruly suburban garden and spending as much time as I can on my slightly creaky, comfy front porch with a strong cup of tea or glass of good red wine.

Need help fine-tuning your organization’s marketing communications? Does your website suck? Would you like a ghost blogger to help you start conversations with your communities? Want to learn how to use social media more effectively? Let’s talk.

Email me at lori.newton@me.com. I’d love to hear from you.

Hi Lori. Did you go to Commerce High school in the seventies? I went there and knew a Lori Newton. Just curious.

  3. Hi Paul, yes I did spend my final year at Commerce – absolutely awful memories- haha!. Haven’t thought about those days in a very long time. And you’ve reminded me that I either need to take down this website or update it!
